Export results for another tool

What can leave the application, from where, and in what format.

Runs on the free tier; reports are watermarked. Settings → Licence lists what yours allows.

Post-processing hangs under the run that produced it: Simulation runs > <run name> > Post-processing, with Boundary values and Report beside it. A case with three runs has three of each. The commands that act on the view live on the Results ribbon tab, which is also what turns post-processing on.

The line and the probe are started from the ribbon — Results → VIEW → Plot over line, Plot over path and Inspect point — and the sections on the Post-processing pane hold the readings and the export buttons.

The path written is shown under the button after each export.

Compare times and Record both need a transient result with more than one write, and are greyed with that reason otherwise. Record carries a BETA badge.

Documents

Section titled “Documents”
  • Report → Export PDF (A4). The Sections toggles decide what goes in it — key results and verification, where the design loses, boundary patch data, field ranges, convergence charts and the rest. Open the report opens the file that was written. The same command is on the ribbon as Results → RESULT → Report.
  • Comparison → Export comparison report. One PDF covering every study in the case. Needs more than one simulation.

Report branding — organisation, logo and footer — is set once per installation under Settings → Reporting.

The case itself

Section titled “The case itself”
  • Case files in the bottom dock → Write case to disk… writes the generated OpenFOAM case, and Open folder shows it. The file list beside it lets you read any dictionary before you export it.
  • Model → RUN → Run folder opens the selected run’s own directory. What is in it is an ordinary reconstructed OpenFOAM case, which is what ParaView’s OpenFOAM reader wants; the application does not write a .foam stub for it.
  • Model → CASE → Export writes the whole case — settings, geometry, mesh and results — as a single .zip, and Import reads one back. The home screen has the same Export…, and Show in folder to open the case directory instead.
  • Log in the bottom dock → Copy log.

Check it worked

  • The path shown under the export button exists and is not an error message.
  • For CSV, open it and confirm the header row names the fields you expected.
  • For the report, check the page count reported after Export PDF (A4) and open it.
