Acoustic boundaries

Not a setup-tree node. Embedded in the application.

No control on this panel carries a label that could be read from the source, so none is listed here. That is a limit of how this page is generated, not a statement that the panel is empty.

Label changes with the case; the source gives these forms: Sound pressure, Normal velocity, Temperature disturbance, Impedance ratio.

  • Control: value (ValueField)
  • Value modes: none (plain entry)

The in-app guidance depends on the case:

  • The amplitude that drives the cavity. Zero is a pressure-release surface — an open end at atmosphere — which is a real condition and not a mistake.
  • Positive is the surface moving INTO the cavity.
  • The disturbance driving the cavity thermally. Zero is a face that is present and not driving anything, the same way a zero pressure is for Harmonic.
  • A ratio to ρc, not the absolute impedance — the solver applies air’s own 420 Pa·s/m itself. 1 is fully absorbing; upward of 10 is close to rigid.

The application reports no problems against this step.

… marks a value the application computes at run time, so the source carries no fixed text for it.
